Call for participants Scout Exchange “Messengers of peace”

OPEN CALL for 32 participants – 8 from each partner country North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. 

The Scout Exchange “Messengers of peace” is a 5-day scout exchange and the first activity from the project “SCOUTS UNITED Learn it, Do it, Scout it” funded by the “Western Balkan Fund” (WBF). The second activity planned in the project are the Peace building workshops that will be held by the participants in their local community.

PARTICIPANT’S PROFILE:
•    age 15 – 20
•    be able to participate during the exchange and project “SCOUTS UNITED Learn it, Do it, Scout it”
•    interested and motivated in the project
•    has enough good knowledge of English
•    Willing to share their experience with others

This project is implemented by First Scout Unit of Skopje as lead applicant with Scout group EHO – Montenegro, Scout Unit “Dr Mladen Stojanovic” – Bosnia and Herzegovina and Scout group Josif Pancic – Serbia as partners from Western Balkan Region and its supported by “Western Balkan Fund„ (WBF) within The 6th Call for Proposals, funded entirely from the WBF core budget.

This overall project is about boosting regional cooperation which we believe will have strong positively impact on the well-being of the young people and societies, that are still not part of the European Union and in line with this sometime discriminated by this. We believe that our goal is this small part of the WBF goal to actively engage the biggest youth Civil Society Organizations in the Western Balkans region, to foster their involvement in regional projects through organizing workshops, to strengthened good neighbourly relations, and to link young people by promotion friendship.

The project objective is to reinforce the young people from the scout movement in creating relevant multicultural network and building up paths for sustainable co-operation on issues related to peace building, youth participation and youth work. Also it will have big impact in the process of reconciliation by increasing youth mobility and enabling environment for regional youth cooperation. This is a life changing project that will open new perspectives for the future of young people and also train scouts on how they can build social cohesion in their communities.
SO1- Social networking of 32 young scouts from 4 WB countries through engaging them in activities that build mutual understanding and reconciliation in the social, educational and cultural domain
SO2 – Reunite the scouts from the countries and encourage them for implementing common regional program
SO3 – To foster and provide an understanding of possible way to build peace, (the pyramid from differences to reconciliation) by enabling young people to learn first-hand some of the challenges and accomplishments of others in other regional countries than their own.
SO4 – Raising awareness through at least 4 peace building workshops one per country and how to improve the Regional youth cooperation, mobility and exchange
