All Equal, All Different – Learning Through Action

The initiative aimed to promote equality, diversity, human rights, tolerance, gender equality, and intercultural dialogue among children and young people through non-formal education.

As part of the project, a team of young volunteers, led by our member Todor Hristovski, developed a practical educational handbook containing step-by-step activities that can be used by scout leaders, youth workers, teachers, and other educators when working with young people. The handbook was created through a collaborative process, combining ideas, experience, and practical testing to ensure that every activity is engaging, easy to facilitate, and adaptable to different groups.

To ensure that the activities were not only developed but also tested in practice, the project was expanded with the approval of the donor and integrated into our traditional scout event “Spring Kisses & Hugs”, held under the theme “Super Heroes”. During the event, more than 100 children and young people participated in ten interactive educational checkpoints based on the activities from the handbook. Through teamwork, games, discussions, and problem-solving challenges, participants explored the importance of equality, inclusion, empathy, and respect for diversity in an engaging and enjoyable way.

Reflecting on the project, Todor Hristovski, the project coordinator, shared:

“This project showed me that being a young activist is not only about organizing an activity. It is about living the values you promote every day, creating opportunities for yourself and for others, and working together to make your community a better place. None of this would have been possible without the support of the older scouts who guided me throughout the process of developing the handbook and organizing the event.”

One of the most valuable outcomes of the initiative is the educational handbook itself, which will continue to support future workshops and educational activities long after the project has ended.

The handbook is now publicly available and can be downloaded free of charge from our website. We encourage scout leaders, youth workers, teachers, and everyone working with children and young people to use it in their own educational activities and help promote a more inclusive, respectful, and equal society.
